Monster.com says the future is now for alternative energy jobs
Now there's another reason to like green car technology; it can land you a job. Internet job site Monster sent out an email today hyping up various jobs in the alternative energy sector, including engineers for biofuels, government jobs in alternative energy, and electrochemists for hydrogen fuel cells. The page is incredibly optimistic on the future growth in the sector (unlike the previous post on the questionable future for ethanol plants), and Monster isn't all talk. The jobs they say are available are, well, available through postings on Monster itself. I think it's safe to say there will be a lot of workers needed in the alternative fuel economy of tomorrow (today). How long the incredible expansion numbers we've seen recently can continue is a question that is worth discussing. If you're in school now or about to start, then it might not be a bad idea to figure out your niche in the green energy sector. [Source: Monster]

Just one more reason that people should be interested in alternative fuels - it's a chance for us to not only do something really important for the environment, but it's a way for us to spend all of our fuel money domestically - inventing, innovating, producing and selling. No foreign cash drain. Why doesn't everyone see this as a HUGE potential boon?

I've been keeping an eye out for this. I think the idea of getting off of oil and onto a fuel that we produce would be a huge gain for us. Energy independence, clean emmissions and no more money sent overseas to fund terrorism. Wins all over the place. Not to mention working for a company that literally helps fuel the economy. Count me in!!

Careers in Wind Power Are a Reality Today!
Don't miss this opportunity to learn about career opportunities and network with leading wind energy professionals during North America's largest wind energy conference.
As the wind industry rapidly grows in record breaking proportions, new jobs will be created and the need for qualified leaders to fill these positions will ultimately drive this industry into the next decade. In the Keystone State, the construction, operation and maintenance of one new turbine blade manufacturing plant (built in 2006) is expected to lead to 1,000 new jobs over the next five years.
Wind energy is one of the fastest growing energy sources in the world. In 2005, new wind farms were the second-largest source of new power generation in the U.S., after new natural gas power plants. In February, President George W. Bush asserted that wind energy could provide up to 20% of the nation’s electricity, up from less than 1% today.
