Great looks and mileage? The future of electric vehicles

When one thinks of electric vehicles, high gas mileage, environmentally-friendly, and cutting-edge technology come to mind. Its appearance, on the other hand, is just an afterthought.

But Tesla Motors aims to change all that. Tesla, co-founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, is currently developing an electric vehicle (EV) that is as stunning as a Ferrari or Porsche. And the sheetmetal won't just be skin-deep: according to the company, this new breed will match such exotics in power, acceleration, and handling. Tesla states it will provide more information of the EV, which it plans to start selling commerically in 2007, next month.
