GM's sales of flex-fuel vehicles jump 222 percent

We at AutoblogGreen have mixed feelings about this news. GM reported sales for its flex-fuel* vehicles such as the Chevrolet Silverado, Impala, and the GMC Yukon and Sierra rose 222 percent last month. (Pictured are the Silverado and Sierra.) Unfortunately, the increased sales are attributed to the $1000 offered by GM to buyers in the Chicago-Rockford area and Minnesota areas where E85 is readily available. Nationwide, though, sales of flex-fuel vehicles rose 128 which does show consumers are concerned about high fuel prices.

*Flex-fuel vehicles can use gasoline or ethanol.
