Pearl Jam shoots for zero net emissions from tours and businesses
Members of the rock band Pearl Jam – my absolute favorite band – announced last week that they've developed a Carbon Portfolio Strategy that should see the band's tours and businesses become zero emission affairs. The band's Strategy involves donating $100,000 to "organizations doing innovative work around climate change, renewable energy, and the environment", including Honor the Earth, Conservation International and seven others. Pearl Jam has been working with Conservation International since 2003 to offset carbon dioxide emissions not only from their tours but also from cars that fans use to drive to the concerts. The band is also using B100 in its tour buses during the current North American tour. Doesn't that just rock?[Source: Pearl Jam]

And I bet that ToeJam, I mean Pearl Jam is doing all they can do to find low emission tour buses, low emission tour air planes, and low emission cars of their own to set the example for their fans that they practice what they preach! I hope they also find that burning marijuana is a huge contributor to global warming. Let's see how many of them stop smoking pot.
