Tips to make the Hemi get better fuel economy

Many will scoff at this blog post but take it in the spirit intended.
The Chyrsler Group is offering tips to help drivers with Hemi engines under the hood, especially those equipped with the Multi-Displacement System, improve their fuel economy. Many are obvious, such as accelerating gradually instead of boiling the rear tires at every stoplight. Basically, powertrain engineers suggest driving situations where the MDS can use its 4-cylinder mode more often and more effectively.
Chrysler does predict that MDS-equipped vehicles will save more than 60 million of gallons of gasoline each year.

I was looking on the Jeep website and they say the Grand Cherokee with this engine gets 14/21 mpg. It maybe me, but that still seems to be about average for an SUV.

I think Chrysler should make the MDS system cut in at fifty or sixty miles per hour and not at 15 or 20 and around town driving. It is very bothersome around town as it is constantly cutting in and out.

I thought the MDS system went off of demand and not mph. Like the article says. If you gradually do anything. It's in 4 cyl mode. As soon as it requires more power, it switchs over to V-8.
If MDS is so good. Why isn't chrysler developing a 4.0L V-8 and a 4.6-4.8L V-8 with MDS? I would think a 4.0L V-8 MDS + hybrid tranny would get fantastic fuel mileage. Expecially if the electric motor would power the vehicle up to 35mph (under light loads) and the gas motor would be in 4cyl mode when charging the system. Plus why not the push rod V-6 line up too. A 3.3L & 3.8L MDS that gets 20% better fuel mileage. If only DCX sees my vision.
