Chevron, UC Davis team up to biofuel research

Chevron seems to just love working in joint partnerships to perfect the next generation of biofuels. So far, we've seen Chevron work with Georgia Tech, a private biodiesel company and then its own subsidiary, Chevron Technology Venture (CTV).

Chevron announced this week that it will work with UC Davis to research next-gen biofuels together. The UC Davis project will get $25 million of CTV's money over five years to research ways of making transportation fuels from forest and agricultural waste (i.e., cellulosic biomass) and to build a demonstration biofuels facility. The partnership will work with the California Biomass Collaborative and will focus on renewable feedstocks that are available in California.
