ZAP hires high-profile sales executives

ZAP has really been making some waves lately, but most importantly their sales have been electric. The company's revenues for the first six months of 2006 have surpassed sales for all of last year. To help out with the ZAP's growth and direction, the company recently announced that it has hired Guy Alderton and Steve Tucker to lead the Power Systems and Portable Energy business units, respectively.

Alderton is best known for his work as the former North American Vice President of Sales for Segway, though, he has also worked as the Director of Business Development for NetBotz, makers of IP-based security monitoring devices, and as the Director of Commercial Sales for Nextel Communications.

Tucker led merchandising and operations of Fry's Electronics' home audio, portable audio and car audio departments. During his time there, the company grew from three stores to 18 electronic superstores. Prior to that, Tucker led JVC's US sales for video and color televisions beyond $1 billion.
