AutoNation to support plug-in hybrids

AutoNation, the nation's largest auto retailer, will join the Plug-In Partner's campaign. AutoNation CEO Mike Jackson praises the benefits of plug-in hybrids and says his company wants to sell them. Plug-In Partners was launched in January of this year and so far has attracted the backing of 60 cities. Many environmental organizations and utility partners have also signed on. One goal is to generate a "soft" fleet orders to generate interest and spur automakers to develop and market plug-in hybrids.
