Event notification: 2006 FISITA World Automotive Congress

From October 22 to 27, the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (more commonly known by its French acronym, FISITA) will hold the 31st World Automotive Congress in Yokohama, Japan. The purpose of the event is to "promote the international exchange of information between automotive engineers, industry, government, academia, environmental and other relevant organizations."

The opening plenary session will be a discussion amongst a group of high-level representatives from five automobile manufacturers (GM, BMW, Renault, Hyundai and Honda) focusing on the issues they believe will drive the automotive industry in the next two decades. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on that wall?

Other plenary session themes are the environment and energy, manufacturing and logistics, traffic control and transporation, safety and collaborative engineering. Themes for the 100+ technical presentations are vehicle design and manufacturing, powertrain technology, driver/vehicle interface, information and assistance systems, vehicle safety and transportation challenges in emerging economies.
