Barenaked Ladies, Reverb featured on Inside Renewable Energy podcast

Let's say you're in a band and want to make your tour carbon neutral, or at least use biodiesel in the bus. Who do you turn to? One possibility is Lauren Sullivan, co-founder of Reverb. This week, the Inside Renewable Energy podcast interviews Sullivan and one of her clients/partners, Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies. The Ladies are on their fall tour, and it's a green one.

Sullivan is married to Adam Gardner, who plays in the band Guster and is Reverb's other co-founder. One thing the two do is set up Eco Villages at concerts in order to showcase alternative energy options (grease cars, solar powered pizza ovens, etc.). They also help coordinate biodiesel (either B20 or B99) fill-ups for the tour buses, and look at the renewable possibilities for the merchandise and food sold at the concerts.

Page discuses the reasons the band is going green, and it's mostly to line up the reality of their concerts with their morals. Making shows environmentally-friendly go a long way to resisting the "crap consumerism" that is so prevalent at corporate rock arenas, Page says.
