Power of 1 solar car starts stability tests

It's not liking watching a Corvette ZO6 carve up the slalom course, but the solar-powered Xof1 started stability testing at Flamboro Speedway this week. The Power of 1 project is the brainchild of Marcelo da Luz. The goal is to set a long-distance record with trips across Canada and the U.S. Weighing about 660 pounds with driver, the car is certainly nimble but skating around on razor-thin tires would be a little disconcerting to me. Still, the Buick that was stalking the solar car in the early runs wasn't around for the high-speed tests. Too bad the team didn't release times and speeds.
