Biodiesel making big impression in ethanol-crazy Minnesota
Minnesota has more ethanol outlets than any other state, and officials there are eager to help consumers convert their vehicles to flex-fuel. But biodiesel is also a growing industry in that state. The first plant opened in 2004, and with the help of government mandates and incentives, there are now five biodiesel production facilities that pumped out 75 million gallons last year. For 2006, production is expected to top 225 million gallons. While a biodiesel plant handles dangerous chemicals, problems with neighbors might not become an issue. Biodiesel plants don't use much water, aren't noisy and there isn't the horrible stench associated with ethanol plants. So expect more growth in that state.

Nice report. Now we have even more reasons why bio-diesel is superior to ethanol.
