Heh, yeah, that's exactly where I want my battery pack -- right next to the gas tank! ;-)

Why bother with batteries at all? If this thing gets such great mileage by using a gasoline engine making electricity used for traction/propulsion, what is the problem? Sounds like with just a 10 mile battery only range, its still a giant leap in terms of overall fuel efficiency.
Am I wrong in thinking it is basically a fuel cell vehicle with an engine instead of a cell? If electrical propulsion is this much more efficient, it is CRIMINAL that it has been kept from the market for so long! GM MAKE and MARKET this car!

A fuel cell vehicle (as typically seen) is more like an electric vehicle with a fuel cell and H2 tank instead of batteries.
This is a series hybrid, similar in concept to the propulsion system of a diesel-electric locomotive.
