Will Bush make an "historic shift" on global warming during State of the Union speech?

Might I get a little bit of what I want, some straight talk on the environment from President Bush during his upcoming State of the Union Speech?
The word across the pond is that the Decider in Chief of the United States of America may have made "a historic shift" and decided that global warming does, indeed, exist and is a problem. If so, it's about freakin' time.
This rumor flies against what MSNBC's Caroline Daniel was saying a few weeks ago, but we're closer to the speech's delivery date now, so we'll say that the writers for the Guardian Unlimited got their hands on fresher information. They think Bush will announce his shift – previewed by the announcement that polar bears were an endangered species a few weeks ago – on January 23rd during the SotU. Nothing's guaranteed, though, as, "another source close to the negotiations warned that Bush had previously appeared to give ground on climate change, only to fail to make real concessions."
The upshot of all of this is that, according to Tony Blair, Bush's shift might lead to an international post-Kyoto emissions treaty. The Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012, and this new treaty might start to be discussed at this June's G8 summit.
Do you think he meant it when he said we were addicted to oil?

Like it is mentioned, any "shift" from Bush about global warming is simply lip service. He will support real change for global warming the same way he supports clean water, better schools, or our armed forces. By spouting off about how he cares, only to rape, pillage, and loot for every last $ while the press looks the other way.

setamericafree.org is in part run by a neocon who supports plug-in hybrids (former CIA director James Woolsey). Their January 10 newsletter said the following:

We hear that President Bush is expected to pursue a major domestic energy initiative to build a "legacy" before he leaves office... Democrats who have recently visited the Oval Office have found the President "both fixated and fascinated by alternative fuels" and wholeheartedly committed to cure America's "addiction to oil." Stay tuned to the President's State of the Union Address later this month.

So GW has never made any concessions to you enviro wackos? What about his support towards alternative fuels in last years speech. I'm sure it made his pals in "big oil" real happy.
JP, you must live in your own alternate reality. The man has spent more money on education than any Pres. in the history of this country! We spend almost 3 times as much as any other country and are consistently outscored by the same. It's pretty obvious that money is not the problem and it's been that way for many years. The number of you enviro wackos that believe what you do only proves the point. I'm sure the "alter reality and fact to suite the liberal edict" is most to blame.
The armed forces have never had a better ally since Reagan. Since when have you libs been worried about military expenditures anyway? Your King William the first cut the military budget 6 of the 8 yrs. he was in office. Why no complaint from you people then? I guess it wasn't politically correct, or should I say politically convenient (same thing) at the time.
The big conspiracy involving global warming you enviro wackos never want to talk about is the SUN!!! It has been in a hotter cycle for the past 10+ yrs.. Check it out on the NASA website for yourself. Might have something to do with the past 10+ yrs. being hotter don't you think? "Hotter than it has ever been in the last two thousand years", except of course for the warming period during the medieval time that was a full 5 degrees warmer than the most dire current predictions that is supposed to destroy the world! When it was the hottest it has ever been, the deserts of the middle east and Africa were swamps and jungle for crying out loud!
I could fill pages with the environmental data you folks choose to ignore, not to mention the amount of data that has been intentionally mis-interpreted, all for the sake of "the cause". Check out CO2science.com.. Of course most of you Al Gore intellects will just chalk it up to the "big oil" conspiracy. If Kyoto is so important and the situation so urgent, then how come you enviro wackos saw fit to exempt 2 of the largest polluters, China and India from the treaty?
China has had a heck of a time getting their cars ready to pass emissions mainly for U.S. consumption. You know why? Because they don't have emission controls of any kind! They don't have a problem with the markets of Russia, Mexico, India, etc. because they don't require emission control either!!!!!!
Big, Bad, meanie America! BOOOOO! HOOOOO!
Funny how most of you folks hate religion yet you have a cult all your own.

Well, I think he will actually make an historichal shift. He we´ll probably anounce what will be a turn from hidrocarbon economy to hydrogen economy. And it will be done with full support of the Oil companies...
