IRS approves the Nissan Altima Hybrid for tax credits

The IRS has officially classified the 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid as eligible for tax credits on alternative fuel vehicles. If you pick up an Altima Hybrid before the end of March you can get a $2350 tax credit, which drops to $1175 between April and September and $585 if you wait until October or later. Of course actually getting an Altima Hybrid could be challenging unless you live in California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. The rest of us are out of luck, at least for this year.

Woah woah woah...before the end of March? I haven't even seen a set date on when this will be available for sale! All I've been able to see is "Spring 2007" and Nissan's website still lists the car as a "Future Model".
Does anyone know when they are available?

My wife and I have expressed interest in this car at our local Nissan dealership and have pretty much committed to buying it. The salesperson spoke with his Nissan rep and expects that they'll be able to order them in the last week of January.

Andrew (and anyone else), just FYI, I test drove an Altima Hybrid today at our dealership, and placed our order! Should be about 6-8 weeks until delivery.
