Saab's Australian release of their BioPower vehicles on video

I was enjoying a bowl of cereal when I ran across this story via an email-tip we received. The gist of the story is that Saab is releasing their E85 capable BioPower vehicles, which we have covered before, in Australia. The video is rather informative if you are not familiar with ethanol or vehicles equipped to run on it, so watch it for that reason only if you are curious about ethanol. Or, if you are a Saab fan and want to see what's happening in Australia, you could check it out for that reason too. Alright, just check it out. Follow the link if you'd like to watch.

SAAB and other automobile manufacturers seem to be trying to solve the "chicken and egg" problem by making flex-fuel vehicles available to the public despite there not being the fuel readily available. Hopefully now that there are so many flex-fuel vehicles on the road ethanol pumps will start to be installed.
President Bush is expected to call for greater ethanol use in the State of the Union speech later tonight. But even if I own a flex-fuel capable vehicle there is nowhere within 150 miles of my home where I can fill it with E85. The oil companies no longer have an excuse (not enough demand) to stall installation of E85 pumps at their filling stations.
