Ford posts video of HySeries Drive Edge
It's a straight public-relations video with a monotone narrator, canned answers and overall production quality that reminds me of those industrial "how soap is made" 16mm films from junior high. But this YouTube video does have action sequences of the Ford Edge with HySeries Drive that was introduced this week in Washington DC. Basic information on the vehicle is presented along with interviews from Ford officials. I admit I was surprised at the room under the bonnet, so the package is well designed. There's also a clip of the E85-friendly Escape Hybrid.

I'd prefer mine with a biodiesel generator that I can switch to VegOil. Like GMs E-Flex, Ford’s HySeries drive will help to demonstrate why the economy and flexibility of a V2G http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_to_grid series PHEV car with a range extender power unit is superior to a parallel or mild hybrid.
Hydrogen aside, this is the way to go. Ford has decided to keep the battery capacity, electric range and therefore the price down for now. I hope to see these type cars in the dealerships for the 2009 model year. Common, A123, Altairnano and other advanced battery companies!!! RUN FORREST… RUN!!

Holy smokes why is Ford still on Hydrogen.
THey say it does 41 mpg. Thats not including the loss from refining natural gas with a total loss of 20% and equivalent co2 emissions of 100% of the natural gas( where else is Exxon going to put the co2). Also, it is taking from a strong battery thereby helping it to increase its efficiency at least 20% like a prius. Without a battery it would be doing 41 - 25% - 20% = 24.6mpg. Of course if you take into consideration that it losses 10% of its gas a week it will be lower then that.
A CNG civic does 30 mpg without a battery. An electric 45000$ Pheonix does 250 mpg without gas just solar tape concealed on your roof .

Zero emissions my groin. It takes a lot of coal/gas/uranium to make the hydrogen for those cells.
