Solar car ready to promote alternative transportation in Philippines
Students and faculty members from De La Salle University-Manila have developed a solar-powered car named Sinag. Made from carbon fiber and Nomex, the lightweight speedster will compete in the World Solar Challenge and help promote the use of alternative sources of energy. The car will utilize solar cells from SunPower, which has a plant in the Philippines and reportedly manufacturers the most efficient cells in the world.
