Final episode of Living With Ed featuring Bill Nye the Science Guy airs tonight

If there happens to be some time left in your TV viewing schedule tonight (there might be something else on today, I'll have to check), the finale is airing tonight on HGTV. We got an email from Amie Kershbaum on behalf of HGTV saying that tonight's episode will be the "final episode of the show." Ed Begley's reality show on extreme green living (well, fairly extreme) premiered on New Year's Day, so that sure didn't last long.
Well, for one last time, you can see Ed and his wife Rachelle navigate daily life in an eco-conscious way. The couple gets a visit from Bill Nye the Science Guy, and he and Ed try to figure out who lives the most green lifestyle (Nye virtually hosts a resource center on Hybridcenter.org). The show airs tonight at 10 pm on HGTV.

Sorry, you have to explain things to me... very... slowly. When you write that "tonight's episode will be the final episode of the show" and "finale", does that mean the show was cancelled, or they ran out of episodes? Were there more filmed episodes that just won't be shown? Do they have plans to produce more episodes?

Ed,
My name is George McQuade, vice president of MAYO Communications. I read the article in LA Health News about the "Living with Ed" show on HDTV and shortly afterwards I got a call from The Gas Company. They need a speaker for their second annual energy expo put on at the Energy Resource Center in Downey, CA April 17th. I wanted to find out if he is available, and if he would be willing to come and speak to a crowd of 500 corporate types and gas company officials about his living with alternative energy sources, I would be willing to really promote the hell out your website, his show and Ed. He might remember in 1994-95, he was the SoCalGas Company spokesperson, and I tried to book him for an event and I remember he got a movie at the last moment in Canada, so I'm hoping I will get luckier this time. Last year Chief Economist Jack Kyser, LAEDC (also my client, gets three to four articles a day) was the keynote.
Ed would only have to speak for 15-20 minutes tops, and I would prepare most of the notes or speech for him, so it would be an honor and a great promotion for him.

ED-
HELLO! I HAD A QUESTION ABOUT GOING GREEN. I AM ON OUR SCHOOL BOARD AND WE ARE LOOKING INTO BUILDING A NEW SCHOOL. I SUGGESTED WE LOOK INTO ALTERNATIVE(GREEN)HEATING,AS WELL AS OTHER THINGS WE WILL NEED. THEY TOLD ME IT'S ALWAYS MORE EXPENSIVE, SO MOST SCHOOLS CAN'T DO IT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO. I UNDERSTAND THAT BUT IT ANGERS ME AT THE SAME TIME. WHAT A BETTER WAY TO INTRODUCE THE NEXT GENERATION TO THIS WAY OF THINKING. ANY SUGGESTIONS OF COMPANIES THAT WOULD HAVE GREEN-PRODUCTS THAT WOULD APPLY TO A SCHOOL SITUATION. ALSO, DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER SCHOOLS THAT WENT WITH ANYTHING GREEN??? ANY SPECIAL FUNDING FOR SUCH PRODUCTS THAT YOU HAVE RUN ACROSS? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORT ON THIS MATTER.
P.S. I AM BUMMED TO HEAR YOU ARE DOING YOUR LAST EPISODE. I WILL MISS SEEING THAT BILL NYE GUY!
SINCERELY,
MCCORMICK FROM NEBRASKA
