An Inconvenient Truth director takes hydrogen-powered BMW 7 to the Oscars

With all of the hoopla about the Tesla Roadster at the Oscars (which turned out to be oh so much ado about very little), there was another green car story at Sunday night's big event. Well, probably many more, considering the celebrity green car culture in Hollywood (along side all the private planes). But we got word - no pictures, unfortunately - that Davis Guggenheim, director of the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, took a hydrogen-powered BMW 7 to the Academy Awards. He must be one of BMW's "selected users." More hydrogen-powered BMW 7s will hit U.S. roadways this spring.

This just demonstrated how clueless Davis Guggenheim is regarding the complete energy cycle of Hydrogen. He's obviously been listening to Big Oil's "hydrogen economy" sound bites.
I'm guessing that he's too busy directing movies, shaking hands and getting rich to learn the WHOLE inconvient truth!
1) Using hydrogen to store electrons to power an electric vehicle is 4X LESS efficient than just using batteries. http://www.physorg.com/news85074285.html
2) The majority of hydrogen comes from reforming “natural” gas (while releasing lots of Co2) at 1/6 the cost of electrolyzing it from H20 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_economy. I wonder… who sells “Natural” gas? I Know, I Know! BIG OIL! It’s their sister product to “Natural” petroleum.
It's all about politics, MONEY and POWER!

Rather ironic, isn't it? The story about Al Gore's utility bills was also an eye opener.

Was he able to get there before the hydrogen ran out? Did he have to switch to petrol? Is he paying full price for the liquid H2 burned? Curious fans want to know!
The Inconvenient Truth is the "BMW Hydrogen 7" gets lousy milage on petrol (15 mpg), and much much worse milage on liquid H2 (4 mpg).

Are you saying the only way you will listen to green advocates is if they were to use ZERO energy and live on the street? So he's rich and lives more lashivly than the rest of us.
I've never heard anyone claim that Mr. Bush should fight in his Iraq War for us to support it. Well I wish he would, and I still wouldn't support it.
