Toyota considering flex-fuel capability for hybrid line

After he testified before Congress on Wednesday, Toyota exec Jim Press told Bloomberg that the company may offer hybrids that run on ethanol or gasoline. Press said Toyota is studying flex-fuel capability but didn't specify a model or when such a vehicle would be released. Currently, Toyota doesn't sell any vehicle that runs ethanol, although the Tundra pickup (shown) is slated for an E85 option by 2009. GM and other domestic automakers are heavy into flex-fuel vehicles and support more federal support for expanding E85 availability.
