Billboard advertisement: "Screw Global Warming. Let's Fly!"

How could I not share this one with you guys? I know that global warming is not universally accepted among scientists or the average Joe, but does that mean we should all just assume there is no problem and go about our daily lives without questioning our actions? Is that what this billboard from Spurt Aviation is trying to suggest, or is supposed to be pure satire? I'm not entirely sure. What do you think, is this funny or just in bad taste?

If you go the Spurt web site, you'll this is a satirical effort to put pressure on the UK government to remove environmentally damaging protection of the British airlines. The "Gordon Ad" on the site makes this very clear. "Gordon" is Gordon Brown, the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK government

I think it's a very funny and very clever campaign. They got in trouble with the advertising authorities with their first salvo:

This one's great too. Keep it coming SPURT!

Air travel is one of the greatest achievements by man without question. It has brought people and places together and united the world. It has changed the paradigm where people are born, live, and die without ever seeing another city, let alone another country. It has brought down cultural barriers and united families.
Quite honestly, given the choice I would rather drown than give it up.

Funny.
When you read Jeroen's explanation it's even funnier.
I'm a bit jealous at how politically savvy Britons apparently are. If you were to show a big billboard of U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson nobody (including me) would know who the heck he is! :-(

No offense, but you guys do realize it's satire, right? Go to the link posted and it might be a little more apparent. Read comment #1 above for an explanation.
