28 new biodiesel pumps open in Iowa, hydrogen comes to Chicago

The Kum & Go convenience story chain has added biodiesel to 28 Iowa Stations. It's only B2, but it's available now. The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) thinks this is just peachy, and IRFA Executive Director Monte Shaw called the move "a major commitment to biodiesel in Iowa."
"Today's announcement dramatically increases the retail biodiesel options for Iowa consumers. Coupled with their leading effort on E85 (85 percent ethanol-blended gasoline), Kum & Go's commitment to renewable fuels is second to none. I think Iowans will sit up and take notice," he said.
Kum & Go also sells E85 at five stores.
Meanwhile, over near the Chicago, at the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), a hydrogen pump opened up today. GTI's pump can make hydrogen from natural gas, ethanol, or electricity and water, H2 Daily says. Which process is used to make the hydrogen in the tank is not specified. Kind of surprisingly, it's open to the public. Read more here.

The H2 fuel station may be open to the general public, but hardly anyone can take advantage of it. There will be lots of curious onlookers, but few customers.
How long will the Gas Technology Institute keep these showcase stations open? As long as the government funds keep pouring in.

A new B2 pump "dramatically increases the retail biodiesel options for Iowa consumers"?
Perhaps its a slow day so we're in cut-and-paste mode on any press release. The gasoline you'll get out of most pumps will be have at least 5x as much ethanol but you wouldn't even know it except for a little sticker. Let me know when it's even B15. You might end up better than 2% if the driver drops his burger down in the tank.

Calvin,
That's why it's in quotes. My own words are that it's "only B2", which isn't much, but better than nothing.
