Nissan ups the price on the Altima Hybrid

The Nissan Altima Hybrid has only been available for a few months and you can only buy one in eight states that use the California emissions standards but the price is already going up. Nissan just announced a $590 increase to the base price of the Altima to $24,990. On the other hand the Altima is eligible for a federal tax credit of $2,350 so that will take away some of the sting. NASHVILLE (Apr. 17, 2007) – Nissan North America, Inc. today announced a price adjustment for the 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid. The new starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $24,990, which goes into effect today, represents an increase of $590.
The 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid is on sale at Nissan retailers in the eight states that have adopted California emissions regulations – California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. The Altima Hybrid has been certified by the Internal Revenue Service as meeting the requirements for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit, thereby qualifying for a tax credit of $2,350.
