Whistler BC to get fleet of fuel cell buses
Many of the world's best winter athletes will be converging on Whistler, British Columbia in early 2010 for the next Winter Olympic games and they will be followed by thousands of tourists. When those crowds descend on the resort town 70 miles north of Vancouver a lot of them will get around on the local buses, which by that time will consist of the largest fleet of fuel celled powered buses in the world. Twenty of the thirty buses in Whistler will be powered by fuel cells by the end of 2009 in a program funded by the federal and provincial governments. This will be the first transit system in the world that is driven predominantly by hydrogen.

The “Hydrogen Economy” is Big Oil’s attempt to change our addiction from oil to hydrogen. Why? (1) Hydrogen can be produced by reforming “natural” gas 75% cheaper than electrolyzing it from water. (2) The massive quantities of excess Co2 produced in the process can be forced back into the earth to help them extract more oil, but some day it will find its way to the surface. (3) They know that there is insufficient public support for more nuclear plants to produce hydrogen. (4) We would still be addicted to a product that they control.
Even Al “chicken little” Gore is worried about having explosive gasses like LNG or H2 stored near juicy terror targets. http://www.timrileylaw.com/LNG.htm Yes, Hydrogen is the most plentiful element… in space. On Earth, it is almost always locked up as a component of another molecule. Life is possible here because there is NO FREE HYDROGEN!
Hydrogen is just another HUGE Big Oil gov’t subsidy! Don’t be a sucker!! When you look at the entire energy cycle, hydrogen is just a VERY inefficient and very dirty and impractical battery!

We know that Hydrogen is bad, not efficient and whatever. But will that change the government and auto companies minds? No. So stop complaining, since every single post about hydrogen fuel has a negative comment on it, not to mention the same comment almost. We know hydrogen sucks, but what can you do? They're not going to stop investing in it after investing so much.

It isn't just that they are wasting government funds on expensive H2 technology, they are also going full blast in a propaganda campaign to try and persuade everyone else to join in the foolishness.
The problem with propaganda based on misconceptions, deceptions and lies is that eventually it runs aground on the shoals of reality. It may take awhile but eventually truth will win out.
