Daelim Delfino scooter review - 100cc 2 stroke in the U.S.

If you like riding on two wheels, and your green leanings are more along the lines of using the least amount of gasoline possible as opposed to having the cleanest emissions, then perhaps you should consider the new Daelim Delfino scooter. According to The Scooter Scoop, the scooter has pretty good acceleration, which is not too surprising considering the 100cc engine is a two-stroke design, which usually feel "peppier" than similarly sized four-strokes. The downside is that the emissions from the two-stroke engine is generally worse than their four-stroke cousins.
A little more on the scooter: Delfino means Dolphin in Italian, although the scooter is made in Korea. Don't worry too much about the quality, it is high. Daelim has been making vehicles for quite some time now, and has collaborated with Honda, which is generally considered the gold standard when it comes to reliability. Styling is generally a personal matter, although Steve from The Scooter Scoop liked the looks. Looks a little bubbly to me, but, your mileage may vary. Speaking of mileage, Steve got better than 80 miles to the gallon under his testing. That is certainly a high figure, so if you are mainly looking to save gas, this might be a good option to consider.

It's a two stroke with an oil injector.
You put two stroke oil in the oil tank
under the seat and you never drain it.
I check the level every second time
I fill up and always, always, always
keep it filled.

Considering that there are cars in Europe (not in the US, but maybe someday...) that get 60MPG, is 80MPG really all that great for a little scooter?

Not 2 stroke, Lithium Ion batteries!

Don't go to 2 cycle engines, go to lithium ion batteries.

2-stroke stinks. In Malaysia, they are being banned to get rid of the blue smoke in the city.
There are many nice 4-stroke models available.
Remember, east Germany was called "land of the blue smoke" because of the 2-stroke Trabants that were the only cars you could buy then.

"emissions from the two-stroke engine is generally worse than their four-stroke cousins"
Replace "generally" with "always"
Looks decent, but needs to be a 4 stroker. I like my Genuine Buddy 125. Costs a few hundred more, but it's a 4 stroke and can do 65 with 80+ mpg.

I have had one of these for two months now and am also getting 80+ MPG. I also ride e-scooters and e-bikes but sometimes you are in a hurry or need to go the distance and this keeps my cars off the road. The quality is very good, and virtually smokeless in operation, although any 2-stroke is going to leak hydrocarbons. It will go 60+MPH but at under 200 lbs its best to stay off the freeways.
