General Motors joins US Climate Action Partnership
Beth Lowery, GM's Vice President for Energy and Environmental Policy has announced the General Motors has joined the United States Climate Action Partnership, becoming the first car-maker to join. USCAP is a collection of businesses and environmental groups that are lobbying the federal government to pass new rules requiring reductions in greenhouse gases. The group is wants to promote across the board reductions in emissions that tackle the problem in all industries. Among the other members of the group are the Natural Resources Defence Council, the Nature Conservancy, DuPont and General Electric.Hopefully this move will mean the end of auto executives standing up in front of congress and complaining about increasing fuel economy standards and more constructive work to actually make changes. You can read Lowery's latest post on the GM FYI blog to find out more.

C-O-N-spiracy. The General is run by big oil, and the fact that I can't buy a Volt today proves it. Attica, Attica!

Bogus! Go to USCAP's site and read for like a minute or so and you'll understand what exactly it is... I especially like their 6 principles of wich 2,4,5 and 6 can easily be bent and are free for interpretation probably leading to enrichment of the participants while creating the illusion of actually doing something.

They are definitely there to do their master's bidding. After all, the Funds that own 59% of GM also own at least 10 times that much in oil company stocks. http://www.ev1.org/gmoil.htm There collusion between Big Oil and Big Auto is well documented. http://internalcombustionbook.com Yea, I guess I am a conspiracy nut. http://stadium.weblogsinc.com/autobloggreen/audiointerviews/edwinblack.mp3

You cannot have unlimited fuel economy, safety, and lowest cost to the consumer, all mandated by all of you "anti-big-corporation-motherjones-types".
Start your own car company if your so damm smart. GM makes a lot of fuel efficient cars that there is very little demand for.
All of you GM bashing hippies and free thinkers drive Japanesse cars and the profits are used to buy whale meat. Chew on that.
