Livonia MI high school students create anti-gas-guzzler PSA
One of the rights of passage for American high school students is getting their driver's license and getting a car. That's where the trouble starts. I'm not even going to get into the wisdom or utter lack thereof of letting kids start driving at 14 years and 9 months. When kids get a car they need to put gas into it and at $3.50 a gallon that gets old fast. Four students from Churchill High School in Livonia, MI created a public service announcement video for a class denouncing big gas-guzzlers like the Cadillac Escalade. The original version only got a C in class but after reworking it, their teacher entered the spot in the 2007 Michigan Student Film & Video Festival where it got one of 32 best in show awards out of the 284 entries. It's good to see that not every kid wants to run around in a big SUV.

Where exactly do kids get to start driving that young? Here you have to be at least 15.5, which is a good 9 months older (thats significant at that age) then what you mention.

Perhaps in Mi? I sure hope it is part of a graduated lisencing program.
When I grew up in Va you could get the learners permit at 15 and had to have a family member over 18 or other adult 21 riding shotgun to be able to drive. Even 15 seems so very young now that I'm older...
