Huh, there's something funny about this funny car ...
Sure, all Funny Cars are a bit different. After all, they are so named 'cause they didn't quite look stock, hence the name "funny", according to the great and all-knowing Wiki. But, this one is even more strange in that it runs on 100 percent canola-based biodiesel, which enables the machine to travel the good old 1,320 in just 6.4 seconds at 250 mph. That is extremely fast in anyone's book.
According to the YouTube video, the fuel is from Milligan Bio-Tech in Canada, and the car is owned by Prairieland Motorsports. Visit their web site and read more about the car here. The yellow paint job calls attention to the canola-based fuel source. You might be reminded of Jay Leno's EcoJet car, which also is powered by biodiesel fuel. I am not going to actually call this car green, of course, but the more people that get interested in alternative fuels the better; if drag racing is a way to make that happen, then I'm all for it. Plus, it's really cool, so it's got that goin' for it, which is nice.

Biodiesel. The Largest Biodiesel producer in the United States is located in Dade City, Florida. Agri-Source Fuels, LLC. They also have a plant in Pensacola, Florida that will be up and running soon. Your diesel vehicle needs NO modifications to use this fuel. This product actually cleans and helps your vehicle to run better. VERY safe for the environment.

Spinx fuel stations in South Carolina have Soy Diesel that is grown, made and sold in SC.. It is also priced very close to the same as traditional diesel. Bio-diesel is likly the short term answer to the american fuel shortage situation. the government need to stop wasting money on Hydro, and put money in proven road worthy tech.

I'm not exactly sure this qualifies as a "bio-diesel" car. It is merely a jet, which will run on literally anything flammable. ANY jet will run on diesel or biodiesel, as well as peanut oil or kerosene. This isn't a car that has been MADE to run on this, it is just the fuel he happens to decide to run.

The US should have worked on alteretive fuels way back in 70's when we had those "so called" fuel shortiges. The writing was on the wall, but we did not act. Now, 30 years later we still buy from and depend on nations that hate us with a pation.
I just wonder when we are going to wake up.
