Fujitsu will reduce CO2 emissions by 30 percent

Fujitsu Ltd., (the electronics company) announced in April that it plans to reduce its CO2 emissions in its transport operations by 30 percent. The achievement will be made by using better truck loading procedures and expanding the use of multimodal transport; planning more routes using railway than trucks, for instance.

The company also announced that plans to reduce CO2 emissions during the manufacture of their products will become effective in 2010. In that year, the company will emit CO2 at its 1990 levels. The key for that has been renovating factories, including more efficient machinery and applying energy-saving logic in the manufacturing process.

Japan passed a law in April 2006 that mandates transport companies and factories to reduce CO2 emissions. If one company doesn't make enough efforts, its name becomes public.
