Spanish transport company makes its own biodiesel

A freight company in the North East of Spain, Tranportes Ceferino Martínez, has installed a biodiesel manufacturing plant that generates 16,000 liters of biodiesel per day, up to 5,000 tons per year. This biofuel is used without blending to power its fleet (B100).

The company says that by having its own biofuel, it can control the quality of the product. Nevertheless, the installation has added benefits, such as reducing the fuel costs. The price of diesel has risen a significant 20 percent in the last year and has made biodiesel more attractive. Transportes Ceferino Martínez also shows off its environmental commitment.

The plant was installed using Swedish technology, from a company called Ageratec.
