Switching to hybrids will save NY's Laro Service Systems $12,000 a month

All right, most drivers or families who switch to a hybrid car won't save thousands of dollars a month in fuel costs. But, if you're a collection of companies with annual sales of $65 million and move your entire fleet to hybrids, then look out. For Laro Service Systems of New York, moving the entire fleet "from gas-guzzling luxury cars and SUVs to Toyota Prius gas-electric hybrids" will "eventually" reduce fuel costs by about $12,000 a month. This is an unusual case, and there's a reason Toyota is sending out a notice about it, but it does put into stark relief once again how greener living and corporate cost cutting can go together.

Can anyone tell me how a facilities support company can save $12K a month on gas but can't update a corporate website but once every 6-7 years?
Let's look at their Services and see where a Prius fits in:
Integrated Facilities Management:
Maybe for the management (white collars), but would love to see maintenance and cleaning crews stuffed into a Prius with the tools of their trade.
Airport Services:
Oh yeah who needs trucks for that role. A Prius will haul jet fuel, food and luggage just as well as any truck or SUV.
Janitorial:
Yup, covered that one already.
Engineering:
I say why not? Just have all the parts delivered on site. Why inspect, fit or do any transportation of large mechanicals? Who needs tools, supplies for anything that doesn't fit in a Prius to repair core services for large buildings in NYC?
And finally Grounds Maintenance:
This one is a perfect fit! With the Prius' high towing capacity you'll never get stuck behind an overloaded diesel flatbed truck again.
Thank you Toyota! You've saved the world! Who needs to get work done anyway? We've got fuel costs to save.
Sorry for the comedic rant but here is the actual article:

My only question is at $400-500/month savings that means each Prius is being driven about 6,000 miles per month. Which at even 30mph average speed (quite fast for NYC) puts a driver in the seat for over 8 hours a day. Great job huh? I'd be thrilled to have my employer force me to drive a Prius for 8 hours a day vs. a Mercedes or Chevy Tahoe.
Lastly, how are they "saving money" if they have to buy/lease 24 cars at $25K each? Even on a 4 year loan they are still $6k in the hole year to year for a loss of $24K over just paying fuel costs for vehicles they own out-right...oh right business leasing.

You know what always seems to amaze me? How horrifying it is to come across someone that is completely lacking the ability to critically think! How do they make it in life? Here, I'm going to try to help you think Buddy, now try to stay with me! I did my research on Laro's website before I opened my extremely low IQ mouth. Yes, I used their website! You know the outdated one! Who would have thought that a multi-billion dollar management company is just simply browsing the internet for a highly reputable janitorial provider? I stupidly assumed Laro became so successful by providing great service at an affordable cost. But thank you, now we all know it's because of a website. And here it is that I was thinking when they do things, they do it to perfection. So i thought they were saving money wisely for the time being. Speaking of saving money, we should call Laro and try to get you a job there! I think I heard they have a bowl scrubber position open. According to the outdated website, Laro is currently employing over 3,500 people and is one of the largest reputable companies around. Therefore, I would just have to assume they must have a lot of supervisors and mangers. HUMMMM... so in this case maybe the traveling managers switched cars? WOW, wait I think I'm getting somewhere now... so out of 3,500 employees lets just low ball it and say they purchased 30 cars (Prius). Now don't forget to take into consideration Laro services a lot more then just NYC smart guy (Long Island, NJ, CT, PA, NH, etc. says the website) so I'd have to assume these supervisors/managers are driving most of the day. I know I fill up at least 1 1/2 times per week and that is just driving to and from work. So lets try to figure this out now. Here is a little math lesson for you knucklehead: if it is ONLY 30 cars filling up on gas (at least $50) ONLY 2 1/2 times per week... drum roll please... that is over $ 16,200 a month used on gas ALONE!!! I don't even want to get into insurance, access to the HOV lane saving gas/time, cost of the car, etc. WOOOWWWW, my head hurts from thinking like a slightly intellectual person. I better get back to class now, Mommy said 3rd grade is very important!!!
