Rumor dreams: Lexus making luxury, hybrid supermini?

The BMW Mini and, more recently, the new Fiat 500 are both drool-worthy, luxury superminis. It seems Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus, has caught small-car envy from BMW and Fiat: Lexus is rumored to be working on a small, luxury car based on the Toyota Auris platform. The rumor also says the mini could be a hybrid, with a RX powertrain and an electric engine in the boot. We think Lexus can pull it off: Just take a look at Lexus' little LF-C concept in the picture above and the gallery below (and make sue to check out Lexus' interesting solution to replace the mirrors). Whatever it looks like, the rumored car may cost sub-£20k and start production within five years.

It would be an electric motor not an electric engine. Engines burn fuel, motors use electricity.

I guess it's about time for US automakers to come up with another "tank" that can hit 150 MPH and get a sparkling 10 MPG.

I doubt this car would be legal in most states without rear view and side view mirrors. What happens if you have to replace the windshield? It also looks very confusing to drive - you are seeing 2 different views on the windshield. Drivers have enough trouble concentrating on driving: they must talk on their cell phone, send a text message, eat breakfast or lunch, comb their hair, put on make-up, turn around to watch their kids in the back seat, turn their heads to talk to their passengers, and watch the scenery out the side window. This looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Thousands of Americans are in jail for possession of "paraphrenalia" -- water pipes and such products created specifically for violating the anti-marijuana laws. When pot has killed no one, and fast cars kill thousands, why is a car designed and touted to violate the speed limit by twice the legal limit not called "paraphrenalia for committing a deadly crime"?

Looks sharp in styling. Lexus has an excellent reputation for "fine cars", it will be the market that determines the sales. If this is your dream call and you would like to have one and pay cash for it visit 6figuresandmore.com. Perhaps, you would want a larger, more comfortable Lexus, check out all the other models they have and check out
6figuresandmore.com to assist you with the fiancing
of a Lexus.

The American Auto Makers do not want to put into production any kind of hybrid car if tey can help it, for they are in bed with the oil companies. Plus they would have to lay off workers while they geared up to re-tool production methods

the mentality in America is to drive something big enough for a family of 4or 6 to live in , with refrigerator, cooking stove , toilet , dishwasher, and a parson's queen size bed . small is not in their vocabulary .
