Detroit 2008 Preview: Honda CR-Z Hybrid concept comes to North America

Honda unveiled what is expected to be their next-generation hybrid vehicle in October at the Tokyo Motor Show in the shape of the CR-Z coupe. The CR-Z is a twenty-first century successor to the old Civic base CR-X coupe now powered by Honda's Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system. The CR-Z will make its North American debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month. The CR-Z is expected to go into production as soon as 2009.

Just saw it at the Auto Show, very nice looking!!!
I had a 88 crx si, loved that car. I have been waiting for honda to remake the CRX, and they have done a great job. I pray they make this car in the U.S., I would buy 3 of em!!

This is a huge advance in design for Honda! For years their design has lagged behind those from Europe. I would most likely buy one, if not over priced. Looks great from any angle.

Honda:
Please build this car. Give us 50 MPG+, market it under $20,000. per and it will sell like hot-cakes.
Take us into the future.

My '86 CRX Si was my favorite car. 40 MPG HWY and I beat that car!!! 4 new sets of tires and a clutch in 52,000 miles and 2 yrs and it NEVER gave me a tank below 30 MPG. Only 91HP, but it only weighed 1945 lbs. The UK version actually had a back "seat".
