Already have everything? How about a bicycle-mounted rear-view camera and display
I don't know why, but Cerevellum plans to make a rear view video camera with video monitor for bikes. Bikes have no blind spots because, well, it's a bike, so the bicycle rear view monitor only saves you from turning your head and body slightly. If tipping you head or glancing down at the monitor on the handle bar is too much trouble, there is also a head mounted display unit. Only prototypes of the system exist but production version is expected to have GPS, measure your heart and cost $200. Would you buy it?

I would buy this just for the camera. Being able to see a full to the rear is worth much more.

This is a great idea and a bargain if the final version includes GPS and a heart rate monitor for $200. In fact, I'd be very surprised to see it that cheap. Heart rate monitors alone can cost that much. If they can make it for that amount, they will sell a ton. Even without the extras, it's a good product. Ask anyone who's been clipped by a side mirror.

can't sing enough praises and kudos for this.
I'm often ridiculed for wearing a helmet mounted rear view mirror (i guess cuz it's not chic, detracts from the sexxy-ness (???), dorky looking, ).
All I know is that I don't go ANYWHERE - not even to corner convenience store - without my helmet and rear view mirror.
With this rear camera idea, maybe now I can be sexxy again. Altho....at 52, why should I CARE?!?!?!?!?

GPS W/Heart rate monitors already cost over $200. Throw in a rear camera and mapping capabilities and I'll be first in line!

Add GPS and absolutely yes! A good HR monitor and computer already costs near $200. Even with the current features it's probably worth the cost.

If I had to commute by bike every day this would be a good investment, especially on two lane roads with no shoulder. Actually even as a device to furnish evidence in case of an altercation with a vehicle it could be of use since there are so many hit and runs involving cyclists and motorists.

Give me one for my motorcycle! Motorcycles have a huge blind spot for anything directly behind the rider (who is usually opaque). Mounted under the seat, this camera could be a viable solution.
Bicycles tend to ride on the side of the lane, so a mirror on the left side is usually enough. This product could be handy for "serious" riders who want to stay in an aerodynamic crouch, though.

as an avid cyclist I think this is a great Idea. Particularly when I know I have to go from the Right edge of the road to the center turn lane. A lot of times when cyclist look back they (including myself) inadvertently start creeping in the direction they look back. and if you have a car coming up fast on that side it increases the chance of getting hit. so I'm all for the rear mounted camera. I'm with the others, if you combine it with a cycling computer, HR monitor and GPS, and what the heck throw in a power tap type power output monitor, I'm all over it.
