VIDEO: G-Wiz takes on an even smaller electric car!

If you've been paying any attention at all, you'll be aware that we hold the G-Wiz electric quadricycle in the same sort of "high" regard that Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson does. What more can be said about a "car" that implodes in a standard crash test and goes from naught to 40mph in "quite a while"? Apparently, the Top Gear crew felt that in spite of it's "sparkling" performance racing against a table (although it did come out much worse than the table in the crash test) there was still room for improvement. They added some extra batteries, and a radio control setup and ran it against a Mustang Shelby GT on the drag-strip where it performed admirably for once. To evaluate the handling of the upgraded G-Wiz, they handed the controller to The Stig for a competition against Richard Hammond and a more conventional radio controlled truck. Check out the results after the jump.

The smaller remote controlled car was NOT electric, couldn't you see the exhaust spewing out if it? Not to mention the sound of the engine?

Nope, it was a Gas R/C car.
BTW, here's the full video complete with the drag race vs. a Shelby Mustang

while im a big fan of ev's building this kind of road going crap must not be allowed it makes it harder to get the general public to accept ev's as a viable alternative to the infernal combustion engine.

Send them the hot rod version of this to test:

I have always thought the G-Wiz as an apt car for city commuting. After the crash test I was quite apprehensive about the safety provided by this little small cute car. But now the G-Wiz has its new version the G-Wiz i, which is better and safer.

So a quadricycle has improved its safety standards in 7 – 8 months, but how many guzzlers have tried to reduce pollution over this period???
