Well, this is one way to avoid paying high gas prices...
The last time we wrote about stupid-cheap gas, the frenzy was due to a mistake. In December, at a gas station in Wisconsin, an employee accidentally set the price of gas to 32.9 cents instead of $3.299. Over in South Charleston, West Virginia, the price of gas was set to an even lower price - just a tenth of a penny - and was set there on purpose. A 25-year-old clerk at the local BP set the low, low price and then allowed her friends and family fill up for basically free. The scam had been going on for months but was stopped Sunday following a police sting. According to the AP, the thieves made off with around $50,000 worth of gas in total. Gas stations make thousands and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars from gasoline/diesel sales. Boohoo for the store owner.

Electric cars would make no difference, someone with criminal intent can hack their electric meter and steal electricity.
