Hybrid Malibu TV commercial featuring Mary J. Blige to debut at the Grammys?

Recently, we told you GM shelved a hybrid Malibu TV ad to air in the Superbowl. MediaPost is reporting that GM will "advertise during the show (Grammys), with commercials - including one starring Mary J. Blige - that tout the Chevy Malibu and GM's "Gas Friendly to Gas Free" campaign." Is that Malibu ad for the hybrid version of the car? We will tell you after the Grammys (now with writers!) air February 10th.
This won't be Mary's first advertising gig with GM. Mary was also a part of GM's celebrity-packed show at last year's Detroit Auto Show. Whatever GM has in store for us on Grammy night, it can't be as unflattering as using the Greek character of Sisyphus in their Superbowl Yukon Hybrid ad. Someone please tell GM that Sisyphus' pushing that stone symbolizes unending, pointless punishment.

Oooh, I love Mary J. Blige! She is so pretty, work what you gooooooot!! :p
But I dunno, I'm skeptical of GM's hybrid efforts, I don't know how good the malibu hybrid is, but if it gets good mpg and all that, and they do start marketing, then I guess that can't be a bad think now can it?

You misspelled her name. It's Mary J. "BLIGE"!
She is not a pop singer. She sings R&B and Hip Hop. At least pretend to do your research.

Once again..... we, the "nobodies" are supposed to be influenced by what some celebrity (who's only taking the money and running) thinks..... we're like sheep..... if the pitch man or woman is famous enough, we'll run right down and buy it, whatever it is...... well..... that should be you.. not me.

are you kidding michele before you open your mouth and start talking crap about the most beautiful and authentic woman alive do your homework first.. first lauryn hill was the one accused of saying she'd rather have black babies die than have a white person buy her cd which is a huge reason she fell off but mary is a lover do you even listen to her songs shes recorded with the likes of Staind Christina, Elton John and plenty more she talks about.. she loves evryone and is a real person who has not let fame go to her head like most and i adore her she has been thru so much if you only knew.. so before you start pointing fingers make sure your facts are clean

I'm sure Mary J drives something more like an Escalade or a Hummer, not a Malibu.

I can't believe it! All this fuss and bother about who's starring in a commercial advertisement, A COMMERCIAL, as if it were actually important! We've come a long way, but it's mostly downwards.

When are advertisers going to learn that 'celebs' don't sell products or change votes? At least not for me.

Celebrity endorsed products don't making the products more appealing, if has the opposite effect on me. Isn't Mary J. the one who claimed Elvis was a racist and that she did not want to perform in a tribute to him? Sure would like to know where she got that info.

Well, she may have had it bad when she was younger, but she is not the first. I hope she is helping those less fortunate than herself since she can now. I don't care for her music, but that's just me. And I definately won't be running out to buy a vechile just because a "famous" person is advertising it. Quite the opposite. Famous people take away the selling point of the product and I believe it backfires for the company. That said, I feel better now.

When Mrs. Mary J. Blige did the first chevy add my children wanted the vehicle she advertised, but I refused because I found it stupid to buy a vehicle because of Mary J. Blige, then when I listen to "No More Drama" that song literally put me in tears, so from nowon I support Mary J. Blige along with my children.
