Cheap ethanol in Sioux Falls, SD tomorrow

Looking for cheap ethanol in South Dakota? You'll get your chance tomorrow when Enterprise Rent-A-Car and VeraSun Energy offer up the biofuel at a Get-N-Go station in Sioux Falls. The promotional event, co-sponsored by the South Dakota Corn Council, is scheduled to last for just 90 minutes and will feature VeraSun's VE85-branded ethanol for 85 cents a gallon. Why would the companies do this? To promote a new fleet of E85-ready vehicles at the Sioux Falls Enterprise location. The press release, which does detail where the cheap ethanol will be available and says you can get free corn dogs, corn chips and pop (full of HFCS for a corn triple play), doesn't say how many flex-fuel vehicles or which ones are in the fleet. Read more after the jump.

Just another waste of good corn. Cellulose butanol and biodiesel from alage is the only way for producing bio fuel.

I live in Sioux Falls, this is interesting...but my car isn't flex fuel capable.
FYI, I'm not a fan of ethanol, the farmers are cashing in, and making boat loads of cash. but the average consumer is doing what? paying more for gas, milk, cheese, ect ect. I which all those billions that have gone into making ethanol mainstream, went into electric vehicles.
THAT would be something that I think could pull our economy out of the slow-down that were curently in.

Sounds like a potpourri of government welfare programs that the marketing team turned into a "promotional event" to "promote fuels that protect the environment" or some such carp [sic].
Or maybe Johnny with the Dodge Ram really needs to find out that he can get less than 10 mpg by putting E85 into it.

If you don't want E85, ethanol-haters, don't buy it. In South Dakota, owners of flex-fuel vehicles know a good thing when the see it.

How do I opt out of the 10% ethanol in all my grades of gasoline?
It cost 3+% in mileage, for no benefit.
and the AKI hasn't increased.
I like to know if Minnesota is serious about 20% ethanol? Maybe the automakers will just stop selling cars there.
Would they do something to compensate for the 6.5% reduction in mileage, such as raising the AKI of regular to 95RON, 90AKI.

"How do I opt out of the 10% ethanol in all my grades of gasoline?"
Move to Iowa.
There is all sorts of information on electric car companies on this site, murc. I'm sure it's not too late to send them a check.
