Watch CARB meeting online and live right now
CARB's meeting today is scheduled to go until at least 10 pm EST. We'll report on the news of the day once things are over, but if you'd like to keep a tab on what's going on right now, check out this page for ways to stream the audio and video feed from California. I heard a bit of Who Killed the Electric Car? director Chris Paine's testimony (he called the hearing a bit of a cast reunion) and I believe the California EPA will keep to hearing available online in an archive, so if you can't watch now, you can check it out later. They screwed the mandate again.

According to Plug in America, the mandate now only requires ~300 ZEVs per year per automakers from 2012-2014 and makes it so that at least 2 EVs are required to have the credit of 1 hydrogen FCV.
They're practically begging not have ZEVs! (and specifically EVs) At 300 per year per automaker how is it ever going to be economically feasible.
They should either do the mandate full throttle (many thousands of EVs per year per automaker) or just not have a ZEV mandate. Decide California. Decide.

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
The oil industry and the car manufacturers fooled CARB in 2003 with its promise that, if the ZEV mandate would dump EVs, hydrogen vehicles were "just around the corner." Funny how that "corner" just keeps getting further and further down the road, huh?
Now they've fooled CARB yet again by promising not only hydrogen vehicles, but also biofuels and hybrids. And this at a time when Tesla, Think, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Phoenix, Aptera --to name only a few-- are cranking up production of pure EVs, the most energy efficient solution available!
Fooled a second time: shame on CARB!
