clickair offsets CO2 emissions in forest close to base airport
Another airline has decided to give passengers the option to offset your carbon emissions when purchasing plane tickets. The latest carbon offset entrant is clickair, a low-cost company based in Barcelona, Spain. The story is that, due to Barcelona's airport placement between two lagoons and a protected area, the airline's carbon offsets take place close to El Prat de Llobregat airport, in a reserve by the Llobregat river.
Prices start at very acceptable levels (€ 3) and with low expectations: clickair expects to plant 250 trees through this program which will cover at least a little bit of the effects of its fleet of ten Airbus A320s.

Ah, the great green indulgences bazaar. Offering one-way fares of EUR 25-45 doesn't exactly do much to deter people from hopping on a plane just for the hell of it, does it? Hooray for zero taxes on kerosene.
As usual with discount airlines, clickair's prices do magically triple once they include fuel surcharges, airport taxes and sundry other hidden fees. Funny how no-one complains about truth in advertising when it comes to booking a flight these days ... it's still cheap, right?

Go blow yourslef and stop trying to justify emission . Emit less and save the earth not the reverse and just buy some random estuary

@rgseidl I'm not here to defend clickair but they are a small company, just 10 planes...250 trees isnt much but is better than nothing..nothing like big airliners such as Air France or Iberia talking about Spain..
Although the 25-50€ fares are ALL included except the bags, i know this because i already flew with then..
