One dead, one injured at Missouri biodiesel plant
Two men became trapped in a railroad tanker car at a biodiesel plant in St. Joseph, Missouri yesterday. One of them, Ryley Pearl, 23, of Savannah, MO was killed and the other, whose name has not been released, was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center and pronounced in in "satisfactory condition." The plant belongs to Northwest Biodiesel and was the first biofuel plant in St. Joseph. It bega production in early 2007. The Associated Press reports that no one is quite sure how the men got trapped in the empty car (which is usually used to carry things like soybean oil or animal fats).[Source: KansasCity.com/AP]

Another tragedy. My prayers go out to their families and friends.
On another note, I don't think this has to do with biodiesel per se, as railroad tankers are utilized in a number of other industries.

So... Did they work at the plant or for the railroad and what exactly did they die/get injured from? Were they in there for days or something?
This story is seriously lacking in relevant information.

Yes, Ryley worked at the plant and STILL at this time there are no answers to why they were in there and what exactly happened. The man that lived was actually the plant manager that was place on suspension following the accident. It has been told that the investigation into what really happened could take up to two years...
