VIDEO: All the Smith Electric Vehicles from the CV Show

The Commercial Vehicle show may be over but the trucks remain ... on YouTube! Smith Electric Vehicles was reppin' hard at the show with 6 (count 'em) different trucks of various sizes and capabilities. We've told you about some already but there's nothing like a nice walk around with a personal introduction to the shiny paint and chrome from a company representative with a Brit accent. So if your flight to sunny England was canceled or you had other contractual obligations (my excuse) you can now enjoy a gander at your leisure.
We've got seven videos after the jump starting with a walk around the entire Smith Electric Vehicle exhibition space revealing all of the involved parties. Each truck gets their own moment in the spot light in the following six videos with their own aforementioned British-accented introduction. Enjoy.

Every day I see people making excuses as to why we can't have electric vehicles just yet. And here is a company that just gets on with making them and selling them. With several hundred all-electric delivery trucks already out there on the streets and highways, in service parcel delivery firms like TNT and DHL, and UK supermarket chain Sainsburys.

The company is owned by Tanfield Group - an engineering company whose shares can be bought on the London stockmarket.

Dude. It's video. Walk AROUND each vehicle. Just standing there is worse than a high rez still and a soundtrack.

vfx, - I was there when the video interview was carried out. The guy doing it was a fellow visitor using a tiny thin little pocket stills camera with video function. I'm amazed it had enough battery power to do half of what it did. Keeping the talker (Dan Jenkins of Smith EV) within mike range among the background noise, and avoiding the spotlight reflections, was tricky.
Certainly worth the effort I reckon.

PS - one of those videos does actually take a walkaround circular tour of the whole display.

To me is economical and makes sense for carriers such as fed ex dhl and the post office to use electric vans on short routes because the gas savings in the ends are tremendous,. The post office could use electric vans for inner city driving , which by the way is when gas cars are at their most inefficient . Wow isnt that a councidence

Kevin - some postal services evidently agree with you. France's La Poste is seeking tenders for the supply of 10,000 electric delivery vehicles. Japan Post says it will replace almost all its 21,000 delivery vehicles with electric ones. In the UK, Royal Mail is trialling two types of Smith electric vehicle (see the Case Studies page on the Smith website)
