Kia cee'd earns German TÿV environmental certificate

The Kia cee'd is the first Korean car to earn a TÜV environmental certificate. The certificate means that the car is made following the ISO 14040 and ISO 14062 norms, showing that the process of designing the car took its environmental impact into consideration.

The ISO 14062 standard relates to the integration of environmental aspects into the design and development of a vehicle, as well as how recyclable the car is. The ISO 14040 standard, which measures the ecological balance of a car, considers the environmental impact of a vehicle through its entire lifecycle, from production to the end of its life. It also takes in consideration the efforts made to save fuel and reduce CO2 emissions, as well as the type of materials used. The Mercedes 2008 C-Class was also awarded the TÜV certificate.
