DriveSmarterChallenge.org launches today
Just the other day, we introduced the Drive $marter Challenge. When we first heard the concept behind the campaign, the website was not yet activated. Well, good news. Today's the day that the campaign officially launches and the website is now live. There are six steps highlighted by the founders of the campaign which will help you save gas, and therefore, money and carbon emissions. There are interactive calculators on the site as well which you can use to calculate your total savings to date as well as the collective savings of the entire community taking part. Click here to listen to five commercials that the Drive $marter Challenge has created to advertise its cause. There are also some rather alarming "facts and figures" which show just how much work there is to be done as it relates to the greening of our transportation.[Source: Drive $marter Challenge]

Maybe the folks on this site are not the intended audience of the challenge portion?
"I already do that" as my honest response to all their "tips". That part really does seem like a "scheme" just to get you to give them email addresses. You get the same tips you got in driver's ed. 30 yrs ago (expect for the "don't drive the car when you don't need to" tip) and then the tempt you with coupons for things you don't need, like car parts, but only after you give them your's and other people's email addresses.
The game now is to figure out who can find he vehicle that can get the most saving! It is also funny how some of their tips contradict other tips on other sites, or is that the other way around?

The amount it told me I could save is just about what I pay for gas annually. Awesome! Now I'll be able to drive for free!
