Radar bombing man gets caught after wounding himself at home

A short while ago we reported about an unknown group called FNAR (Fraccion Nationaliste Armé Révolutionaire) that was bombing speed-control radars in France. The government claims with radars are in use to reduce accidents and to lower pollution levels by forcing speed reduction. Last week, a man aged 31 was seriously wounded when he was manipulating one of these bombs in an apartment in Hauts de Seine, France. The guy said he belonged to the FNAR and the police found a small laboratory where he presumably produced the explosives. However, the FNAR doesn't seem to be a group made up of enraged motorists; the group acts and talks like a terrorist one, asking for €4 million to stop bombings and spreading several extreme rightwing messages.

Boy are you butchering that name. It's "Fraction nationaliste armée révolutionnaire". It is spelled correctly in the Le Monde link you've put. ;-)

Terrorists don't ask for money. These guys are nothing more than petty criminals, trying to exploit the fear of terrorism.
And obviously, they're not very bright. Think about it. Would you rather get busted for vandalism, in which case you'd have to pay for damages and do some community service, or a few months probation if you're unlucky... or would you prefer to invoke the response of an anti-terror task force, have fun being questioned by intelligence people and face charges for domestic terrorism? As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for, it might just come true.
As much as I hate speed traps and would like nothing more than to destroy every single one... in the end they'll just put up more of them, and guess who pays for it.
