Another Tesla spotted on its way to its new home

Over at the Tesla Motors Club, one of the posters put a couple of photos of a silver Tesla Roadster on the back of a flatbed truck in the Windy City. I checked with Tesla and they confirmed that this car is in fact P4, the fourth production model. This is the same car that had been temporarily used as a marketing car in Europe and was seen in Monaco and Cannes. It has now arrived in the States and is on its way to its owner who happens to be a Tesla board member that lives in Chicago. You might now be saying to yourself: "that's at least three cars that have been delivered and still no car for Martin Eberhard. What gives?" Stay tuned for news on that front. We'll have something for you very soon.

Its a shame to see that highly efficient, zero emission car hauled around by a 10 MPG flat bed truck. I know that owners want a pristine new car, but they should be driven rather than hauled to their owners. If owners don't want someone else driving their cars they should be willing to pick them up, at least the final part of the delivery anyway.

Elon Musk knows no shame. Sooner or later the rest of the board and the shareholders in Tesla must recognize the damage his antics have caused Tesla. The easiest way to judge somebody is to examine how they treat other people. In this respect Elon Musk has shown and continues to demonstrate how petty he truly is. He is damaging the reputation of Tesla and has already cost Tesla revenue with his treatment of former Tesla employees. He only owns something like 36% of the shares of Tesla. The shareholders should vote him off the board or at least revoke his position as Chairman. His Billion$ may give him the power to bully other people but also demonstrate how dark and evil his soul truly is.

I just saw this car cruising down Michigan avenue about 10 minutes ago. I nearly dropped my coffee. Didn't know we had a tesla in town.

3B, you mean on its own power, not on a flatbed?

BBH, I found those pics a couple days ago. I would hope that the car is moving around under it's own power by now.
It's not surprising to me to see P4 delivered. We saw the car a long time ago. What's concerning, though, is that we haven't seen any other cars since.

Doug, agreed, just wanted to make sure it wasn't headed somewhere else, for yet another show or something.

Elon Musk is starting to look like a really infantile jerk. Did he tell Eberhard "I'll get you at recess"?

Musk is not a billionaire, his net worth is 300-400 million, most of which is tied up in stock in "his" companies: SpaceX, Tesla, and Solar City.
He's very rich, very smart, and like most entrepreneurs, very very confident in himself (enough to risk being called arrogant/egotistical). All in all, very American (even as an immie).

Oh and Kimbal Musk has already said that he's getting number five soon.

Gabe, do you have a reference for your info on #5?

How many do they have to build before a paying customer gets one? Or did the board members pony up a hundred grand for their copies? Pretty sweet deal at any rate, "Let's start a car company that makes cars just for us."

"Its owner ... happens to be a Tesla board member that lives in Chicago."
Is it supposed to be a secret who gets what car? I mean they give you that information, and yet there appears to be only one person that fits that description. How is that a secret?

BlackbirdHighway, Yes, it was under it's own power. I saw the silver Tesla pulling away pretty quickly from the stoplight at the intersection of Michigan and Adams. This was directly in front of the Art Institute of Chicago this morning around 10:30. Cool sight to see.

And still no word on when that delivery will happen, Martin? That's really just... I don't know, words fail to describe how incredibly unsatisfactory that is.

I would like to see Martin and Elon settle this before Judge Judy. Talk about a rating bonanza.
