Volkswagen looks into its crystal ball, sees zero-emissions in 2028

Apparently, Volkswagen thinks its time for another weird and wacky look into the future. This time, the German automaker is gazing just twenty years ahead. The results of its future look are three virtual concept cars. Yes, all three are capable of driving themselves, as you would likely imagine. As would be expected of any self-respecting gaze into the future, petroleum is not part of the picture. In its place are biofuels for those who simply must have liquid fuels and, of course, electricity. We feel pretty confident that these projections are possible, but that's right about where any semblance to reality ends.
After taking a leisurely stroll through the über clean park, a father and his son are reminded that it is time to leave by a hologram. What car to have delivered? The VW One wouldn't do, as it only seats a single occupant. The VW Room is overkill, as it is intended for an entire family. So, the son chooses to summon an Ego, a two-seater sportscar concept complete with user-defined green flames.

I don't see anything about these cars flying? 2028 and we still don't have flying cars? I was hoping the future would be so much better than that.

Well, I'd really like a flying car too - can you imagine the crashes?!
Anyway, I thought the site design was well executed - and VW's stated design/philosophy was nice to hear about. I'm curious in general about what that the bodies of any future autos will be made of. And, what will constitute an 'engine'.
Can I really order one with flames?

Practically, that will mean that you ll have to possess a separate license to drive/fly a car, just imagine an air traffic control for the same. Well, looks like distant dream to me. A lot of infrastructure needs to be developed for that.

It is just great car I want to purchase it. I also heard "this month Volkswagen development chief Ulrich Hackenburg explained to reporters at the Detroit Auto Show that the small car segment in the United States is likely to surge in the coming years", and that his company was intent on taking advantage of that growth. Already confirmed is the Mark VI Golf, which will make its way Stateside this September, but Hackenburg was hinting at bringing over an even smaller model.
