Following the introduction of the RC... concept, Peugeot is showing off the Prologue, a new concept using a hybrid architecture. Although Peugeot says that it defies all classifications, it's likely to be the base for the future 3008, a compact crossover that would fight against the Nissan Qashqai and the Volkswagen Tiguan. Currently, the only SUV available at Peugeot dealers is a Mitsubishi Outlander clone, called 4007. For the record, the 308 is Peugeot's subcompact, and the 407 is the Lion's marque sedan.
Based on the platform of the Citroën C4 Picasso, the Prologue uses a claimed "new generation" hybrid powertrain which gets 200hp and produces 109 g/km of CO2 for the European mixed driving cycle and 0 g/km when running exclusively on electrons. Could it be a plug-in hybrid?

I was just in europe and saw some very sporty looking Peugeots, this looks like a great design combined with good mpg, too bad they dont have dealerships on the US side of the pond. They can probably name their price in europe so there is no need to bother with US production.

I hate the fact that Peugots aren't sold in the USA. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!!!!! They have some of the sexiest cars out there and their frugality is unmatched. Saw a bunch in Europe, and I could just scream. The problem with our automobile industry is that we don't allow these cars to the States. That why the US auto companies are screaming for help. They've been protected for so long, now they need our help. Shame on US legislation.

The 308 is not a subcompact. It's a good bit larger than a Rabbit.
