Nissan announces its love for green paint ... sort of

All right, so Nissan isn't planning on painting more of its cars in a green hue, but they are reducing the overall environmental impact of their painting process. The new technology will cut down paint waste, use less space, reduce carbon emissions and be quicker to boot. Nissan will move quickly to use this new process in all of its plants worldwide, which likely has just as much to do with saving money as it does with saving the environment - but of course, we'll take the greenery any way we can get it. We aren't going to attempt to explain how the technology itself works as it seems to use some sort of computer program to determine exactly how much paint is required for a specific body panel. It may as well be black magic, just so long as the final product has a good finish and won't need a respray any faster than normal.
